Meet the tiny monkey that caused a nation wide blackout
Many people in Kenya, are angry after losing electricity for several hours due to a mischievous monkey.
Electric company KenGen, announced that the nationwide power outage was caused by a monkey that fell onto a transformer at one if its power plants.
KenGen revealed that the monkey fell onto the transfer at around 11:30 a.m. The monkey was seen climbing on the roof of the power plant in Gitaru, before jumping onto the transformer.
The transformer went offline, which caused a national blackout.
KenGen facilities are secured by an electric fence that keeps out wild animals, but somehow, this monkey managed to get inside.
The entire industrial industry, which relies on the grid, came to a halt due to the power outage. Power was restored throughout the country at around 3:00 p.m., causing million of dollars in damages.
